Located in beautiful Santa Cruz, California, Covewater Paddle Surf is a dedicated Standup Paddleboarding shop on the West Coast north of Santa Barbara. Covewater provides stand up paddleboarding (SUP) equipment, accessories, classes and rentals.
Owners Scott and Leslie as well as their employees are very passionate about stand up paddling and enjoy sharing this experience in the gorgeous Monterey Bay with new friends. About three years ago, Scott picked up his first stand up paddleboard and knew his ocean time would be changed forever. As stand up paddling continues to grow rapidly around the world, he felt there needed to be a place in Northern California that paddle boarding and all those who love it could call home. Covewater welcomes one and all to share the simple pleasure and thrill of stand up paddling.
When it comes to gear and accessories , Scott says nothing compares to Victory Koredry. He came across a Victory Koredry ad in the Stand Up Journal about a year ago and was very stoked to find out that Victory carried SUP specific gear and thought it was a no brainer to carry our stuff. “There’s nothing out there like it,” Customers are always asking the question, “ What do I wear while SUPing?” Scott has found that wetsuits are too warm and uncomfortable in most conditions and a t-shirt was definitely not the thing to wear in Northen California waters. Customers are amazed at the water repellent technology as he demonstrates to them with a water bottle he keeps under the shelf. People love the sun protection, the comfort and style that Victory provides and his customers feel more part of the sport while wearing the Victory gear made for SUPing while out on the water. The loosefit are selling quite well. “A lot of people don’t want to wear a tight fitting rashie.” Especially a lot of the bigger people enjoying the sport. Scott says that the Koredry line fits everyones needs and suggests any shop doing rentals or lessons, to loan out a loosefit as part of the deal. Covewater Paddle Surf is holding a SUP contest coming up in the Spring and Scott plans to have Victory making all the Jerseys for the contest as he’s aware that we do many of the contest jerseys in the SUP world.
