After talking with Chris Moore from Kitty Hawk Kites, I could only think one thing….These guys really have it together. Whether we were talking about kiteboarding, kayaking, hang gliding, surfing, para-sailing , or, well lets just say that KHK has their hand in pretty much every known water sport. Founded in 1974, KHK has grown beyond its expectations.. The KHK Flight School is the oldest hang gliding school on the east coast and largest school of its kind in the world with 10,000 plus students annually and over 300,000 to date.
Kitty Hawk offers many other recreational activities. There’s Kiteboarding , guided Kayak eco Tours, Para-sailing Rock Wall Climbing, Dolphin Boat Tours. Aero Tours, Surfing, Wakeboarding and Water Skiing. KHK provides excellent service and product. Have a peek at their website and you’ll see what I’m talking about. With 14 shops on North Carolina’s Outer Banks and 2 in Florida, KHK seems to have it together. Throughout the stores, Kittyhawk offers and houses some of the best product for all water sports and that should give you a pretty good idea of why we are in those retail shops.
Chris manages the power kite and kiteboarding sales for Wind Wizards and also operates one of the largest kiteboarding schools with Kitty Hawk Kites. He has been professionally involved in kite traction sports since 1991. His experience ensures that the customer gets the very best equipment and service. I came to believe that Chris is working in paradise. He explained it is set up on Hatteras Island and is like a ski resort for kiteboarding. Think about a ski lodge and what they offer and then substitute the ski/.snowboard and snow with kiteboards and water.The KHK shop has a restaurant on the 3rd floor. Next to the shop is a condo to house visitors looking to get the best kiteboarding service and product available. Chris came across Victory about three years ago. Talking to Chris about the KoreDry was exciting and refreshing. I heard what most everyone says about the KoreDry shirts….they are incredible and very unique. This is coming from someone who really knows their stuff about the products used in the water sports industry, especially kiteboarding. Employees do demos for customers pouring water directly on the shirts. The customers, in amazement see water repel right off the shirt and then its magically dry. Chris says most customers think it’s some sort of trick. Well…..NO, he explains its not a trick…..It’s just the best technology one could ask for. Chris enjoys doing shirt demos since most of the time it’s a sell, and he likes to hear the customers amazement and excitement. Chris’ favorite KoreDry is the long sleeve loosefit. He uniforms every instructor with it. He explains that his instructors are very comfortable, dry, and are worry free about the sun wherever the Koredry covers. These are the same KoreDry shirts that he offers to customers. My thoughts about this interview led me to believe one thing…….Chris is definitely a true Victory BELIEVER.
