There are two types of prints that are currently practiced in the printing business. One is the screen printing and the other is the 3D Sublimation printing. You will often come across these both types of printing especially when you are practicing printing on the fabric or ceramic. But what do these two different methods mean? Is there any substantial difference between both or are both synonymous? So let’s talk today about sublimation vs screen printing. Many companies spend lots of resources and effort to create a blog that supports their business, particularly the sales process. Yet many corporate bloggers complain that while blogs contain relevant information and attract visitors, they can’t track how their blog has influenced sales. Social media has raised customers’ expectations about the information they need before they purchase. If your blog content is relevant to prospects’ and customers’ needs before and after purchase and your products deliver on their promise, you can convert your blog into a sales machine.

What is Screenprinting?

  • What is Screen Printing?Screen printing has been a popular method of printing for many years.
  • This printing technique has been used to decorate and personalize t-shirts, baby onesies, tote bags, signs, stickers and so much more.Introduced by China around 1279 AD, screen printing or also known as silkscreen printing was not fully adopted by the West until the 1910s when silk mesh was readily available and the process of creating a photo-reactive stencil was invented.
  • Popularized by American artist Andy Warhol, best known for his Marilyn Diptych and Campbell’s Soup Cans works, screen printing was now on the map as a popular method of print decoration.

What is Sublimation?

Unlike screen printing, sublimation printing relies on a chemical process when transferring a design. This method of printing is best when transferring an image with multiple colors being used within the design. Now, sublimation printing may sound complicated since it is using a chemical process to transfer an image. But it is as simple as printing your design on special sublimation paper and heat pressing the design onto an article of clothing that is sublimation-ready.

The actual technical process of dye-sublimation is a chemical process where a solid turns into a gas without going through a liquid stage. This allows full-color artwork to infuse with the polyester and polymer-coated substrates; also known as digital sublimation.
